Writing your story as a healing practice with june bennett

Today I talked with June about writing as a way for women to dialogue with their bodies, to release trauma and self-judgment, and as a catalyst for healing and magic.

We talked about The Elemental Approach to Writing, which is a holistic practice that taps into our experience as women at the deepest levels and connects us to the Universal energies that sustain us and make us truly radiant, from the inside out.

June guided us through an experience of writing from our body’s wisdom.

Do listen to the episode to experience it and let me know what you got out of that practice!

It was powerful and insightful for me.

And we talked about writing as an empowerment practice, even if writing has never been easy for you.

June is a master at accessing our capacity to write and tell our stories, even if only for ourselves.

June’s Bio:

June Bennett has always been inspired by wild, open spaces in nature and curious to hear the stories of people whose backgrounds and traditions are different from her own. She has a bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from UCSC and has travelled extensively to explore a rainbow of cultures and awe-inspiring natural wonders.

June is…

*The bestselling author of GREENIFY: AN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR’S GUIDE TO FOSTERING CARE & SUSTAINABILITY FOR SELF, OTHERS, & THE PLANET

*The facilitator of THE AUTHOR APPRENTICE writing collective (a collaborative anthology book-writing program that she offers twice a year)

*And is the creator of her signature program, 90 DAYS TO A MORE ALIGNED MANUSCRIPT.

In supporting authors in reaching their highest writing aspirations, June’s approach is to always draw on the restorative benefits of nature as a way to sustain her authors throughout the book-writing journey.

June has always found renewal in nature and brings many of nature’s healing elements and ancient wisdom practices to her coaching sessions. While she received her certification as a Health and Wellness Coach in 2019, she has been a practitioner of traditional energy-moving modalities like reiki, qi gong, yoga, and polarity for twenty-five years. Her toolkit also includes more modern, neuroscience-validated coaching processes that support clients to break through blocks, create long-lasting habit changes, and reach peak performance states.

She spends her time between Hawaii and California. When she is not writing, coaching, or building courses, she can usually be found walking her dogs on the beach, hanging out with her family, watching the sunset, or surfing.

Over a decade ago, when I was working as a chartered accountant and married to my then-husband, I felt so unsure of myself. I felt jealous of beautiful women and was constantly comparing myself to them.
